looks like we're gonna have the river
all right here we go wind's gonna get on
well we found us a couple spots that
we're gonna try but this bank is just
riddled this whole bank is just riddled
uh logs timbers uh different types of
rocks structure mud it's just got
everything you would want
but we're going to start in one spot and
try it there if it doesn't work we're
a couple times until we run into what
all right guys this is what i'm kind of
i've come up this bank and made some
where i found some good uh
all right we're gonna get right above
it looks like there's fish on it
but can we make them bite
yeah see all that in there guys that's
what i'm gonna be fishing
hopefully find a big one in there
all right let's hank her up
all right this shows that we're probably
all that stuff that i showed you on the
depth finder is about 80 feet behind me
so we throw our lines out that scent
trail is going to just be going down
river so anything that's down in that
brush pile that's interested is going to
so let's get our lines out and see what
we've got plenty of fresh bait
thank you j.r hall from black sheep
he's one of our gentlemen that's on our
to see where the bait might be down here
he was able to go catch me some
so we've got nice fresh bait
to 30 foot of water to the outside edge
i feel that in that stuff down there
so i might not get some of this these
if i don't get a fish on them
you gotta fish where the fish are
now i did see some fish down there so
we'll see if they're ready to
i hope it's gotta come out here and
when these bass fishermen coming around
all right now what we do is is wait
about 15 20 minutes and see if we have
any action if not we're going to bound
down we're going to do it
uh pretty fast for the rest of the day
mile mile and a half stretch and we're
15 minutes 20 minutes every every 20
minutes we're going to move down bound
down and see if we can catch that active
all right we spent about 20 minutes in
that little spot right there we had
no no committers so we're gonna move on
down we're gonna hit this bank
pretty fast and pretty hard to find the
if you set up on a spot for 20 30
minutes and the fish are not there it's
time to move on down with this
particular technique i'm using
this is an old school technique i
learned about 20 years ago from a man
they call him long tall joe hall
that's when i was fishing on the
cumberland river he's he's uh he's
well-known angler for the cumberland
but this is gonna be my plan until i
figure out what's going on with these
fish this is the first day we're out
so we're just going to kind of
we may bomb or we may run into a good
only time is going to tell us
all right this spot really here really
surprised me but we've sit here
i gave it actually 20 25 minutes this
one here because i seen fish down on
they're just not having it so
so here we go bound down number two
there's a fish on one of these
pieces of wood that's going to bite
he's swimming with it oh yeah that's a
yeah he's pretty good one
so it's gonna be a pretty good fish
he don't even know he's hooked right now
he's coming up back there oh now he
knows now he's doing a little fighting
i don't know how big he is but
and action's action no he's really
swimming my way now i mean he went fast
now he's filling up river
we got we caught up with him now
first flat head of the year and it's not
so i feel really good about that
my boat is a total wreck right now
all right he wanted that head
all right that's a nice little fish
for the first one of the day
got the skunk out of the boat and he was
on the deep side of the water he was on
but he's in that wood i guess so
we're gonna turn him loose a little
but boy he had some power in that
current i thought he was way bigger than
i thought he's a 30 or 40.
yeah the bounding down is a good
technique to use uh when you're trying
like saying you don't have a lot of time
you can just pick you about a mile worth
work that whole back there
chances are it's going to have fish on
somewhere is it going to be the right
we don't know until you fish it but
it's got the makings this whole bank has
got the makings of a 100 pounder
we've got food to the right
current rolling right down the middle
